May 2022 Update

In April 2022, TxDOT authorized the City of Sachse to begin issuing monetary offers for the right of way and easement parcels associated with the improvements to Merritt Road. The first offers to property owners were sent out in May 2022 and should be sent to all property owners by the end of June 2022. Recent changes in ownership will delay property offers being sent out.

Engineers have provided updated construction cost information to the City of Sachse to reflect inflationary increases in construction prices. The estimated cost for the project (right of way and construction) has risen from $25 million to $29 million. The revised figure is still very close to the budgets established by the various entities that are contributing funds to the project.
