May 2026 Update

City of Sachse staff updated City Council on May 4, 2026. Right-of-way purchases are complete. Federal and state reviews continue, and utility companies are relocating lines in the corridor. Read the full update for details and next steps.

About the Merritt Road Project

The City of Sachse plans to improve approximately 1.6 miles of Merritt Road, from Pleasant Valley Road to north of Sachse Road. The project will widen the road to four lanes, add a hike-and-bike trail, connect Merritt Road directly to Woodbridge Parkway and raise low areas that flood.
