Environmental Studies


The environmental study for the project is a series of technical reports and memorandums that describe the project’s impacts on various natural and cultural resources within the project vicinity.

They address the following:

  • Archeological resources — Potential of disrupting ancient artifacts.

  • Historic properties — Disruption of historic structures.

  • Hazardous materials — Presence and/or disturbance of hazardous substances left in the group by others.

  • Air quality — Changes in NOx and pollutant levels in the air.

  • Biology — Impacts to threatened or endangered species habitats and other natural vegetation features.

  • Noise — Changes in sound levels related to vehicles traveling on the proposed roadway.

  • Waters — Direct impacts to streams and wetlands.

  • Community — Impacts to socioeconomic conditions associated with proposed roadway improvements.
